Badarpur flyover on track

October 2010 is the deadline for the 4.5km six lane Badarpur flyover being built with estimated cost of 400 crore; 62 pc work is said to be completed. A special toll plaza mooted on this flyover.

Tax holiday for Faridabad hotels

The government on Thursday extended the deadline for five-year tax holiday from March 31 to July 31, 2010. The Budget had extended the five-year tax holiday available to 2, 3 and 4-star category hotels and convention centres in NCT of Delhi and the districts of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad. Rise in Faridabad water level after mining ban

Claiming the stoppage of mining activity has had a positive impact in the region, Marwaha said the areas where mining activity was concentrated witnessed a rise of 1 to 8 metres in groundwater levels between 2003 and 2008 after the activity was stopped, despite the fact that rainfall during the same period was below normal. Among NCR cities Faridabad is worst to live in

Among 37 cities surveyed Faridabad ranked 32 on offering quality of life; way below to Delhi which surprisingly occupies top slot. In a CII survey Faridabad is the worst city to live in among the NCR cities; it lags behind on the civic infrastructure and employment opportunities. Migration and healthcare are the other factors in red.
