SRS Ltd IPO: Aug 23-26, 2011

Faridabad-based SRS Ltd is a diversified company having a presence in cinema exhibition, hotels, jewellery, retail and FMCG (cash & carry) businesses.

The company derives 71% of its total revenues from the jewellery sector, followed by 25.5% from retail sector and the remaining from cinema and food & beverages. It has a chain of multiplexes spread across six cities.

In the hotels segment, the company has two brands SRS 7dayz and Punjabi Haandi across 11 locations. In retail and cash & carry segment, the company operates through the SRS Value Bazaar (for FMCG products) and SRS Fashion Wear (for retail) brands. The company sells a wide range of gold and diamond jewellery under SRS Jewells.

Goodwill Hospital to invest Rs 290 cr in Faridabad

City-based Goodwill Hospital and Research will invest around Rs 290 crore in two years to set up a hospital and a diagnostic centre at Faridabad and six polyclinics in various towns of Uttar Pradesh.

"We have acquired five acres of land at Faridabad and plan to put up a 700-bed super-speciality hospital. Investment to the tune of Rs 227 crore is required here," Goodwill Hospital Managing Director Namrata Chawla said.

Mining ban stays if miners don't cooperate in Haryana: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Friday said that unless the private miners co-operated in the reclamation and rehabilitation of the devastated mines in Aravalli ranges of Faridabad and Gurgaon district of Haryana, the ban on mining in the area would continue.

Faridabad: Solar water heaters must

Solar water heating systems in residential and government buildings has been made mandatory in Faridabad. Additional deputy commissioner, Faridabad, Anita Yadav, forwarded a letter to HUDA administrator, Faridabad, directing that solar water heating systems have been made mandatory for those buildings which house industries where hot water is needed.


Among other buildings where solar heating water system has been made mandatory are hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, motels and banquet halls, jail barracks, canteens, housing complexes set up by group housing societies/housing boards, all residential buildings built on a plot size of 500 square yards, educational institutes, tourism complexes, etc.
